The MP3 cutter lets you select the part of a song you need on its waveform, listen to it and download it as MP3 or WAV. You can also remove an unwanted part from the middle: the rest is joined without a click at the seam.
How to cut an MP3
- Press Choose a song or drop the file on the page — the waveform appears.
- Drag the start and end handles or type the exact time, for example 0:45.5 and 1:15. The ↑ and ↓ keys in the box move it by a tenth of a second.
- Press Listen to check the part. To take a piece out of the middle, choose remove the selection.
- Add a fade in and fade out if you like, pick the format and press Cut.
Make a ringtone from a song
Ringtone 30 s selects 30 seconds from the start of the selection — move it to the chorus and save the MP3. A 2–3 second fade out makes the end soft. On Android the MP3 can be set as a ringtone right away; on iPhone a ringtone is added with the GarageBand app.
What else you can do
- Remove silence or talking at the start of a recording.
- Cut a clip for a video, a story or a performance.
- Take the sound out of an MP4 video: it opens just like a song.
